There are so many fantastic shops to find quality baked goods in and around Oakville. As someone who loves to bake, I love supporting our local artisan bakers. Here’s a list I put together to help you get familiar with some of our best local bakeries.
Monastery Bakery Is a hidden gem. Family owned and operated since 1990, it is so much more than a bakery. Monastery is a grocery store, bakery, delicatessen, lunch and coffee shop, all rolled into one. The fresh pasta is amazing, as are the breads and baked goods.
Founded by two young chefs who worked in Michelin star restaurants in Italy before moving back to Canada, this place makes incredible fresh pastas, cream puffs and pain au chocolat.
Founded by local Erin Harris, the Sweetest Thing is where lots of people go to get specialty cakes celebratory treats — and for good reason. Erin’s cupcakes and birthday cakes are out of this world.
French Pastries…What more can I say. Yum.
Cobs is a chain bakery with 3 locations in Oakville. Great service and the cinnamon buns are the bomb.
HONOURABLE MENTION GOES TO:
Not in Oakville but worth the short drive. Newly opened and located in the heart of the Village Square in downtown Burlington, The Vegan Pantry has fresh baked goods as well as meals to go (ready to eat and frozen) and amazing lattes.
